Hi everyone~

It's been a while since my last post and I'm a bit late with this, but there's been news about Healin' Good Precure!

After episode 12 (which aired April 19th) the season went on hiatus because of Covid-19 after which they started re-airing the earlier episodes. But! This Sunday we'll finally be back to new episodes as they will return to schedule!

However it's still unknown if they will shorten the season (so next year the new season can start on time) or if they'll do the full season and have the new season start later in the year from now on. If they shorten it they'll miss 9 episodes I think? Personally, I think they could do without those probably as there's always going to be filler. But then again, nine is a lot.

And then we have new information about the new Cure that will be joining the Healin' Good girls! It'll probably be a while before we see her in the show because of the hiatus, but we have some info and new images:

Tumblr 2af0651ceb77aae6015ab3fa7cda307a Ae9dd56b 1

Here we have Asumi Fuurin aka Cure Earth! She transforms with Latte and will be voiced by Mimori Suzuko (who you also might know as Love Live!'s Umi). Her weapon is the 'Earth Windy Harp'. She also has a duet song with Latte's voice actor called 'Wind of Sympathy'.

I think it's interesting that the main colors of her civilian and Pretty Cure form are different. Her civilian form mostly is sea green with a bit of white, her outfit & styling is quite mature, making her look a lot older than she probably is. She is probably only like 16 or 17. I'm not a huge fan of the look, but it looks nice enough.

Then we have her Pretty Cure form which is very purple. She definitely gives of late arrival Precure vibes with the long skirt and look that's quite different from the others. It makes me think Cure Felice, Cure Amour or Cure Ace. Definitely a bit angelic and elegant.

With this info it seems like she has air/wind related powers which makes me wonder why they called her Cure Earth...

From the pictures I'd say she has a very kind and gentle look to her, but I don't trust that completely. She might turn out to be like Cure Ace ^^;

Healin' Good Pretty Cure is coming to Crunchyroll this summer! As you can see it'll be available in North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Latin America! It won't be of much use for me personally but I'm excited for the fans living in these places! I hope this means there'll be more Pretty Cure content on Crunchyroll in the future~

That's it for now! I'm looking forward to the new episodes~ Let me know what you think of the news!

"Draw it into the universe! My own imagination"

T H E   S T O R Y :

Star Twinkle Pretty Cure is the 16th season in the Pretty Cure franchise and is directed by Hiraoki Miyamoto (who also worked as storyboard and episode director on Hugtto and KKPCALM), series composition by Isao Murayama (who also did series composition for Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure) and character design by Akira Takahashi (who also did character design for Suite and Doki Doki Precure).

The story focuses on Hikaru, a girl who loves all things related to space. One day she meets an alien girl, Lala, which changes her life. As she becomes a Pretty Cure and is joined by her new friends, they search for the Star Color Pens to restore the Star Princesses and save the universe from darkness. The season makes use of a space aesthetic and theme. It also focuses on imagination.

After finishing watching this season, I have very mixed feelings about it. At the start I was very excited because the season uses a space theme and the character designs were made by Akira Takahashi (my favorite Pretty Cure character designer). However, the series composition was done by Isao Murayama who also did Mahou Tsukai Precure, one of my least favorite seasons story-wise.

It had the usual start for Pretty Cure, we are introduced to our main characters, mascots, villains and the direction of the story. I think what made the start of the season different from other seasons is that we’re introduced to aliens: Lala and the mascots are aliens and the villains are aliens too. They are also able to travel to space.

Starting with episode 1 to episode 31 the story focuses on the search for the Star Color Pens to restore the Star Princesses while making sure the Pens don’t fall into the hands of the villains. This happens while the girls deal with their usual lives and how being a Pretty Cure fits into that. Hikaru is of course super excited to be a Pretty Cure and being able to go to space, Lala tries to adjust to life on earth and befriending the other girls, Elena is busy with school, her family and her work in her family’s shop, Madoka is dealing with the pressures from school and her father. I really liked the episodes that had interesting character stuff, especially the episodes focused on Lala and Madoka. I have to say that the episodes where they visit other planets weren’t actually that interesting.

Once the group has gotten used to each other, we meet Blue Cat aka Mao aka Yuni. I didn’t really like her at first. I’m not a fan of the ‘phantom thief’ trope, it just does not appeal to me personally. We soon find out that all the people living on her planet were turned to stone and their treasures were stolen, so she is trying to steal everything back. To save her planet she ends up joining the Pretty Cure, leaving her Blue Cat and Mao identities behind and becoming Cure Cosmo. I think because I didn’t like her as a character I didn’t really care for the episodes focused on this change as well. It took a bit too long for me personally.

Now continuing as five, they keep searching for the remaining Star Color Pens. They also visit Lala’s planet which I thought was interesting. On her planet they all rely on AI and hardly make any decisions for themselves. We also find out Lala has a very low rank on her planet and her parents and brother don’t take her very seriously. However, Lala has grown as a person thanks to her experience on earth and as Precure and is able to show them how she has grown. I thought this was rather nice for Lala, finally being able to get the appreciation for all she does from her family.

Then when they finally get all Star Color Pens they restore the final Star Princess, this gives Fuwa the power to transform into a new form. I personally did not like this new form at all. The original Fuwa was super cute, although she wasn’t able to talk. The new Fuwa looks like a weird unicorn/dog combination, it was also a bit uncanny to suddenly hear her talk. Unicorn Fuwa just lost all her appeal for me. Besides this, it turns out the girls aren’t done yet. They also have to find the Twinkle Imagination, something they have to discover for themselves. This almost felt like the writers had no idea what to do with their last 18 episodes.

This is followed by more filler episodes, while slowly each girl discovers their own Twinkle Imagination. Twinkle Imagination is apparently the girls realising something important about themselves:

.:Mini star bullet 03:. by Chipi-Chiu Yuni realises she and Aiwarn aren’t that different, decides to forgive her and wants to make peace. .:Mini star bullet 03:. by Chipi-Chiu

.:Mini star bullet 05:. by Chipi-Chiu Lala realises that she doesn’t want to be appreciated as Samarian, alien or Pretty Cure, she wants to be recognized as her own person and be herself.  .:Mini star bullet 05:. by Chipi-Chiu

.:Mini star bullet 04:. by Chipi-Chiu Madoka realises she is hold back by her father’s pressures and expectations and decided she’ll decided her own future.  .:Mini star bullet 04:. by Chipi-Chiu

.:Mini star bullet 01:. by Chipi-Chiu Elena realises how important genuine smiles are and decided she wants to continue making other smile.  .:Mini star bullet 01:. by Chipi-Chiu

.:Mini star bullet 02:. by Chipi-Chiu Hikaru realises she want to learn more and more about everyone (human and alien) out there and continue to shine.  .:Mini star bullet 02:. by Chipi-Chiu

I actually thought all of these moments were quite nice. I feel like these moments gave me more insight into their characters and I think some of them could have used moments like this earlier in the series. These were very emotional moments for these characters were they realised important things about themselves and even influencing the villains they were fighting.

After they all get their Twinkle Imagination, it’s time to perform the final ritual with the Star Princesses but they are interrupted by Darknest, who reveals herself to be the 13th Star Princess Ophiuchus. She was after the Star Color Pens and Fuwa the whole time. She sees ‘imagination’ as a failed product of this universe and wanting to recreate the universe fitting her own vision. I thought this was a really interesting reveal that I wasn’t expecting!

The other villains and Nottorei turn against her and join the Pretty Cure in a final battle against Ophiuchus. The girls discover that Fuwa was a vessel all along, if either side uses her magic she will disappear. This saddens the girls of course, not wanting Fuwa to disappear. I thought this was a pretty dark reveal. In the end the girls end up using their Twinkle Imagination while Fuwa sacrifices herself to stop Ophiuchus.

Unfortunately this doesn’t work because the girls’ hearts aren’t in it. Ophiuchus is still there and Fuwa is gone. However Hikaru realises Fuwa is still in their hearts and they awaken their powers once more and using the universe’s imagination they finally defeat her. The universe is restored to how it was before.

After everything is over the girls decide to give up their Precure powers to revive Fuwa and bring her back. Lala and Yuni both return to their own planets. We get a look into the future. Lala now does inspections of other planets, we get to see that the former villains have now created their own planet where they’re living together. Meanwhile Yuni restored her own planet with the help of Aiwarn and is now still helping out there. Hikaru has become an astronaut about go on her first mission into space. Elena works as an interpreter (like her mother), translating the news about this rocket mission. Madoka was part of the team that realised the rocket mission.

I think the finale was pretty dark in some ways, but I liked that the villains joined the Pretty Cure in battle and in the end decided to use their Twinkle Imagination to revive Fuwa, and solve their own problems with their own strengths.

C H A R A C T E R S :

After the previous season I was hoping we'd return to the more entertaining/developed leader characters. Unfortunately this was not the case. I was worried about this after watching the first two episodes and not much changed.

Hikaru was disappointing to me. She’s super energetic and open person, she loves weird things like aliens and is excited to meet new people. I think she was likeable and I liked that she had all those unique interests. She just had no real changes or moments of growth. It wasn’t really until her Twinkle Imagination moment I kind of realised how much potential she had as a character. Because making connections is something she does throughout the season, but I think they could have done a lot more with it. I often found myself interested in the characters around her. I did like her chemistry with Lala a lot though, they were very cute together. I liked how she had an impact on others, but I wish they had used her in more interesting ways.

I loved Lala, out of all the Precure she was definitely the best character this season. She comes from an alien planet where she’s an adult, she takes her mission very seriously, which is why she clashes with Hikaru in the beginning. Slowly she adjusts to life on earth and starts to learn new things. On her planet you don’t learn by yourself, but simply use AI to find out new things. By herself she decided she wants to learn things on her own. When we learn about her family and planet, her character makes even more sense. It all finishes nicely with her Twinkle Imagination moment. On earth with her new friends and classmates she was finally able to really be herself and be appreciated for that. She was in general a very sweet character and I loved her character development.

Although I did like Elena a lot, I think she lacked a bit of character development as well. She’s a popular girl with a shining smile. She works very hard for school, her family’s flower shop and she looks after her siblings as well. I like how she handles situations confidently. She is also good friends with Madoka. However, I feel like most of the time she was almost too perfect. We later discover she had her own weak points, but they were mostly resolved before the season even begins. As a child she knew she was different and was always wondering what people really thought of her, eventually she was able to get over that as she realised that everyone is different. I would have liked to see her use that background more often in the series.

After Lala I think Madoka got the best development. She’s the kind of perfect girl you often see in these series. She’s calm and polite, she’s good at school, she is the student council president, she does archery and other things as well. I like how we slowly find out more about her background. She becomes a Precure after following her own intuition and after meeting the girls she starts making her own decisions more often. Towards the end she finally realises that her father’s expectations and her listening to him has held her back and she wants to make her own decisions. I really loved that development. I also like how she was so mature, often noticing when one of the other girls was upset. She was a genuinely sweet character.

I’m still not a huge fan of Yuni. I didn’t like they way they introduced her. I do think the Phantom Thief thing made sense for her character, I thought the whole idol Mao identity felt out of place. I did empathise with her backstory, but I didn’t like her a lot as a character. She didn’t really feel as a part of the team, even after joining them. She would often be doing her own thing and she was just kind of there for her own goals. That is totally fine of course, but I would have loved to see her getting closer to the other girls. I changed my opinion about her a bit with her Twinkle Imagination moment. I thought that was a lovely moment, where she decided to forgive Aiwarn and make peace. It was a real moment of growth. It made me like her a bit more, but she still felt a bit out of place. She felt more like a colleague than a real friend.

I really liked both Fuwa and Prunce! Fuwa was really cute, I often feel like baby mascots are either adorable or annoying, Fuwa was definitely adorable. She's very cheerful and curious! I think she lost that likeability for me when she grew into her unicorn form. It was a bit weird to suddenly hear her talk and I think her new form just looked weird. Prunce was great! I think he was a very entertaining character and I liked how protective he was of Fuwa.

Although they didn’t interest me as much in the beginning I ended up really liking the villains! Seriously, they had more interesting backgrounds and development than our main character! I wasn’t expecting that at all. They are all aliens working for Darknest. We’ve got Kappard, after his planet was robbed and later destroyed he holds a grudge against other alien species. Without a home and wanting to get revenge he decided to join Darknest. There’s Tenjo, on her own planet she was mocked for looking different from her own species and often isolated. When she became older she decided to leave and ended up joining Darknest. I like how she was like a natural opposite to Elena. Aiwarn was homeless and all alone as a child when she ran into Darknest minions, where Tenjo offered her a place to stay. Aiwarn ended up using her intelligence and inventions to help with Darknest’s mission. Garuouga’s home planet was destroyed after which he had no where to go. He decided to join Darknest . I like how we slowly got to know more about them and how the Precure ended up befriending them. Seeing them all happy on their own planet in the end made me really happy!

We’ve got the Nottorei, who are used as soldiers. I thought it was really interesting how they were all actual different aliens wearing costumes. Just like the other villains they were looking for a new home or goal. They weren’t just faceless lackeys.

And lastly we have Darknest aka Princess Ophiuchus. I thought she was fine as final villain. Her motivation was interesting but could have been explained a bit better I think. It was an interesting concept.

The side characters were mostly family members! Hikaru's parents and grandparents, Lala's parents and brother, Elena's parents and siblings, Madoka's parents. I think I liked Elena's family the most, I like how they are so positive and supportive of each other. I also really liked Hikaru's father, he's just like Hikaru, upbeat and interested in all the weird things!

Special mention goes to the girls' classmate Sakurako! She seems like your usual rich & spoiled girl type with a princess-like style. I like how she actually got some depth to her character. I also love how she herself claimed the name "Venus of Mihoshi Middle School" compared to Elena and Madoka who get called Sun & Moon by others.

I wish we got to see more side characters in general. We barely got to see their school this season and I always like to see our main characters interact with their classmates. Because now it feels like Hikaru, Elena and Madoka had like no friends before the series starts. It makes their world feel oddly empty when almost only see them interact with each other and their families.

T H E   A R T :

I loved the space aesthetic of this season. There's so many pretty galaxy backgrounds and other many lovely backgrounds. I particularly loved Hikaru's bedroom, it just looked so cute and cozy! I also thought that the transformation and attack sequences look really pretty. I also thought the many items such as the Star Color Pen and Pendants looked really nice, I think they were all well-designed.

I also loved a lot of the character designs this season. Akira Takahashi did not disappoint! I think the four main girls all looked great! Especially Cure Star, Cure Milky and Cure Soleil have the prettiest designs. I like how they all use their space themes differently. They all have some really unique elements in their outfits that give their Precure forms a cute & alien-like vibe! I think that's why Yuni's/Cure Cosmo's design was so disappointing to me. The bright blue hair, cat ears & human ears, the rainbow skirt, it just doesn't look good together. I think they tried to put way too many elements into one design.

The mascots both have adorable design (minus Fuwa's unicorn form), I especially like Prunce's, he is just so cute! I also really liked the designs of the villains, even though they're aliens their designs are based on characters from Japanese folklore stories. Then there's also the Star Princesses who all have beautiful designs! They're designs are not very complicated and look really pretty. My favorites include: Gemini, Libra, Scorpio and Capricorn!

I think some of the planets they visited could have been more original, I thought most of them had okay designs. I was a little bit disappointed by Lala's planet though.

T H E   M U S I C :

I thought the opening and ending themes were fine! They were fun to listen to, but none of them really stood out or became a new favorite of mine. Out of the three the first ending song is probably my favorite.

I loved the transformation music, it's so upbeat and catchy, it still gets stuck in my head! Some people apparently didn't like it, but I thought the singing during the transformation was really cute, my only complaint was that I thought it sounded nicer when they sang it solo, the chorus version was slightly less nice.

Other than that the soundtrack didn't really stand out to me. Although I did love the soundtrack bit for the Twinkle Imagination attack, I think it sounds so beautiful!

F I N A L   T H O U G H T S :

I feel like this season had a lot of potential, but it's just not that great. While I liked our main characters, I think there was something missing. Especially Hikaru lacked depth as a character. I also thought Yuni didn't fit very well into the group, I think altogether there was a lack of chemistry. I think this could have been solved with more character-focused episodes and somehow fitting Yuni into the group a little bit better.

I also thought the theme of 'imagination' was a bit confusing. They use the word imagination for a lot of things, it's something I associate with creativity, dreaming and thinking without limits. Here it seemed to be more about thinking about your future (imagining yourself as a different person), while I think this season would have done great with a connection theme. Making connections with different people and with different species. It's what these characters do all the time and they show us how wonderful these connections can be. I think it would have been great if they had focused on that.

The episodes that really focused on the characters were great, but I think a lot of the episodes with the search for the Star Color Pens and other filler episodes were boring and kind of forgettable. Another thing that made me lose interest for quite some time was the introduction of Blue Cat. I didn't think her introduction was interesting. It also took way too many (boring) episodes to travel to Lala's planet. For me it really ruined the flow of the series. I also thought they kind of lost inspiration for plot points after they got all the Star Color Pens. The Twinkle Imagination felt very random (although it gave us some nice character moments). This season might have been better with less episodes actually.

While there's things I love about this season (the visuals and character designs, the four main characters, the mascots, the villains), it just wasn't enough to make me like it. I missed a loveable leader that shows growth, there were too many uninteresting episodes, the group lacked chemistry... I'll mainly remember this season for the great character designs, likeable main characters and nice villains.

Episode 13 'Lala's Exciting First Day At School☆' This episode shows us the differences Lala experiences as an alien on earth very well. While she tries to fit in, she discovers her classmates like her just the way she is.

Episode 34 'Connected Feelings☆ Elena and the Saboten Alien!' The girls have to show an alien around on earth, the trouble is the alien can't speak. Elena is able to communicate with them thanks to her mother being an interpreter. Just a very cute episode.

Episode 35 'Hikaru Is The Student Council President!? The Glitterific Election Battle☆' Hikaru ends up running against Sakurako for the role of Student Council President. The students seem to think Sakurako just want to do this because she wants to be important (because of her personality), but Hikaru and Lala discover she genuinely wants to help the school. This episode made me a Sakurako fan!

Episode 40 'Her Identity Is Exposed!? The Alien in Class 3, Year 2☆' The girls' class discovers that Lala is an alien and start to avoid her because they think she's dangerous. This makes Lala really sad. When the class is attacked by Kappard, Lala protects them, she realises she can really be herself around her classmates and that's what she wants. In the end the class realises Lala isn't dangerous and things go back to normal.

Episode 43 'Emitting Feelings Through Smiles☆ Tenjo VS Elena!' We find out why Tenjo joined the Notraiders and Elena realises how important smiles are to her. We find out the two of them aren't that different and that they have similar experiences.

Another season of Pretty Cure over... I was really hoping I would love this season, sadly it wasn't meant to be ^^;

Hi everyone~

It's already the 17th season, I can't believe Pretty Cure has been running this long... Yesterday the first episode of Healin' Good Pretty Cure aired! So I'm writing a thoughts post! I'm still working on my review for Star Twinkle Pretty Cure, it's coming soon ^^

Shamrock Divider by Gasara

So this first episode introduces us to our new main character Nodoka. We're shown she's a kind and extremely helpful person, we also find out that her health isn't the best. She has just moved to a new town with her parents. While exploring the town she helps out various people and shortly meets Chiyu and Hinata.

Meanwhile the mascots, Latte, Rabirin, Pegitan and Nyatoran are send to earth with the mission to find the legendary Pretty Cure and heal the earth. They have no idea how to find the Pretty Cure, but Rabirin takes the lead and starts looking for a doctor. The others aren't sure about that.

Things come together when Daruizen, one of the villains, creates a monster in the forest which infects the place. This has an effect on Latte, making her sick. The mascots are desperate for a solution, but they aren't strong enough themselves, they call out for help. Meanwhile Nodoka sees the commotion and runs there to help. She ends up helping the mascots and together with Rabirin she transforms into Cure Grace. She fight the monster, purifying it and saving the forest. With the power of the forest/flower spirit (?) that was infected they are able to cure Latte.

Shamrock Divider by Gasara

I thought it was a nice first episode. It introduces Nodoka nicely, I thought she was an alright character. I'm not a huge fan of her voice, but I'll probably get used to it after a while. Other than that she didn't really stand out to me much. Her helping out everyone could have been done a bit more subtle, but I guess it sets a good example for kids. I think with her being ill in the past (although we aren't exactly told what kind of illness) it has potential for some great personality background and development. I feel like I'm saying this every season at this point, but I do hope she gets some good character development, otherwise she's going to be a very boring character.

I really, really liked the mascots! I actually liked them quite a bit more than I expected to. Especially Rabirin, Pegitan and Nyatoran. I like how they actually got screentime to show their personality and mission. It gave me a clear idea of what's going on with them (although we still don't know everything). I thought Rabirin was very brave for going out there and trying her best to find the Pretty Cure and later to get help. Can't wait to see more of them!

We didn't see much of the other characters yet. From the short moments we got to see them Hinata seems very outgoing and bubbly while Chiyu seems calm and responsible. I'm interested in seeing more about them. We also saw Daruizen, one of the villains. He seems similar to the young male villains we've seen in the past, but we only saw him for a short moment really.

Visually it reminds me a lot of Hugtto Pretty Cure. It looks like it could take place in the same universe as Hugtto. This may have something to do with both seasons having the same art designers. It doesn't help that out three main characters remind me a lot of Hana, Saaya and Homare from Hugtto. I feel that it lacks the unique feel that is could have. When I look at the Pretty Cure designs I feel like they could have done something more interesting with it. What about some cute doctor/nurse-inspired Precure outfits? The clear theme is about healing/treatment, why not some designs that reflect that?

The transformation sequence was okay. It is cute that they transform with the mascot, but otherwise it didn't seem very special. Music-wise nothing really stood out to me, I really loved the ending song though!

Shamrock Divider by Gasara

We'll have to wait for episode 3 & 4 to see Cure Fontaine and Cure Sparkle, but I do hope we get to see Chiyu and Hinata next episode. I also hope we find out more about the villains. I think it was interesting that Daruizen mentioned previous Pretty Cure, meaning there were other Pretty Cure in the past.

Although I might sound a bit critical, I thought it was a good first episode! I'm looking forward to next episode.

What did you think of the first episode of Healin Good Pretty Cure?

First of all, happy holidays everyone! Hope everyone is having a good time!

So we've got new information again about Healin Good Pretty Cure! I feel like all the reveals are happening so quickly this year, I definitely wasn't expecting them all so soon.

First we have the official poster for the season! It's a better quality version of one of the images leaked earlier. It features the three girls and their mascots!

We also got a translated story synopsis (source: animenewsnetwork.com):

"The Healing Garden, a secret world that treats Earth's ailments, has been attacked by the Byōgens who seek to infect Earth. Three "medical trainee" Healing Animals and Latte, a Healing Garden princess with special powers, have come in search of partners to avert the threat. The three girls they meet — Nodoka, Chiyu, and Hinata — transform into Precures and stand up to the Byōgens to protect all life on Earth and the Healing Garden."

I still think the term of healing and ailments is a bit vague here. I don't know if they mean like 'healing nature' or actually healing sick animals and/or people. I guess we'll find out if we get a new trailer (or we'll just have to wait for the first episode). Other than that it's pretty straight forward. The mascots come from the Healing Garden to find the Pretty Cure and protect Earth and the Healing Garden.

The three girls each have their own mascot and they also share one together I guess in Latte (the dog mascot)?

You can also see the items floating around more clearly! There's 6 of them featuring: a flame, a snowflake, a four-leaf clover, a cherry, an umbrella and thunder. They might be like potion bottles used to heal? Or just upgrade items.

And now to the official profiles!

Nodoka Hanadera / Cure Grace (voiced by Aoi Yūki)

This season's leader.

"Nodoka is a 2nd year middle school student who just moved to Sukoyaka City. She is a my-pace sort of girl, who is optimistic and energetic. She wants to become stronger to the point that she is motivated to do many things, but is not very good at exercising. She, however, has a strong desire to help others and when impressed, she often says "fuwa~" (「ふわあ~」?). Together with Rabirin, Nodoka can transform into the Pretty Cure of Flowers, Cure Grace (キュアグレース?)."
(source: prettycure.fandom.com)

Sounds like she's your usual optimistic leader. But with good character development that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I think it's interesting she's not good at exercising (when there have been many sporty leaders). Nothing outstanding so far. I kind of like the top part of her design. I'm not a huge fan of the bottom part.

Chiyu Sawaizumi / Cure Fontaine (voiced by Natsu Yorita)

"Chiyu is a laid-back 2nd year middle school student with a lighthearted yet stern personality. An older sister type who will look out for you no matter what. She has a strong sense of responsibility and is an ace of the school's track and field team. On top of that, she is smart, especially with science, and is sporty, especially when it comes to high jump. Her house is a hot spring inn. Together with Pegitan, Chiyu can transform into the Pretty Cure of Water, Cure Fontaine (キュアフォンテーヌ?)."

I always like the blue older sister type (I have a weak spot for those type characters) and she's also sporty! She's also smart... She has a lot going on. I think it's nice to have a blue sporty Cure :D I'm not a big fan of her design, her hairstyle feels a bit lazy and her design has a lot going on. I think it would look nicer without the green-ish fabric on the skirt and ankle boots (these boots are really ugly).

Hinata Hiramatsu / Cure Sparkle (voice by Hiyori Kono)

"Hinata is a bright and energetic 2nd year middle school student who is very friendly. She is rather blunt to the point that she will always say what is on her mind, relevent or not. She isn't good at studying. She is very apologetic, always apologising once she realizes she did something wrong. Absolutely loves fashion and cosmetics but is so fond of it that she isn't great at judging it fairly. has a habit of saying "a lot" (「めっちゃ」?) way too much and her house is a vet with a cafe.Together with Nyatoran, Hinata transforms into the Pretty Cure of Light, Cure Sparkle (キュアスパークル?)."
(source: prettycure.fandom.com)

Hinata sounds like she actually has a different and interesting personality. She's is blunt, friendly and apologetic, but also not good at studying. I love the fashion bit as well. I think it's nice to have a character like this that's not good at everything. I feel like we've seen that a lot in previous seasons. Her Pretty Cure design though... I really don't like it. I've kind of accepted the hairstyle, but everything else, it just doesn't look nice. I like her civilian form a lot more. I think she has potential to be my favorite character this season.

And we've got the mascots of course!

Rabirin (voiced by Ai Kakuma) - "Rabirin is energetic with a strong sense of justice. She gets excited way too easily which can lead to her being rather clumsy. She can sometimes be tamed by Nodoka, but other times, there is no stopping her when she gets really excited. Despite that, she and Nodoka have a strong bond. Rabirin is a rabbit like Healing Animal who ends her sentences with "~rabi"" (source: prettycure.fandom.com)

Pegitan (voiced by Hana Takeda) - "Pegitan has an eye for excellence but is shy and timid. He is modest and has a "will do it if I have to" attitude. He and Chiyu support each other and he loves hot springs. Pegitan is a penguin like Healing Animal who ends her sentences with "~pē"" (source: prettycure.fandom.com)

Nyatoran (voiced by Aki Kanada) - "Nyatoran is a show off who can act too cool and often says too much, much like Hinata, who is he very similar to. When he gets impatient or in a serious mood, he says "~nya"" (source: prettycure.fandom.com)

Latte (voiced by Haruka Shiraishi) - "Latte is a young princess from Healing Garden. She can't speak cause she's young but by using a stethoscope, you can hear her heart's voice. She can detect when Byokenzu infect Earth, like her mother Queen Teatinu, but is much weaker. When she uses too much power, she becomes very weak. She loves how her mother spoils her and loves to nap. When listening to her heart's voice, Rate ends her sentences with "~rate"" (source: prettycure.fandom.com)

Teatinu (voiced by Hana Takeda) - "Teatinu is the queen of Healing Garden and is Rate's mother." (source: prettycure.fandom.com)

The mascots all sound really cute! I like how all of them have their individual mascots.

And now for last:

the trailer!

It mostly features Nodoka! We get some scenes that are probably from the first episode and a small preview of Cure Grace's transformation. We see a possible villain for a second. Most interesting is that they use their mascots transforming into wands to transform (which is why they don't have a transformation item/pouch on their outfits). It seems like a fun idea.

Not completely happy about that because if they use their wand a lot it probably means more magic attack fights (and not physical fighting).

We also have a preview of the OP & ED:

The opening sounds quite nice and is sung by Rie Kitagawa (who also did an OP for Star Twinkle, OP for Mahou Tsukai and an ED for Go! Pri) and the ending sound really cute as well which is sung by Machico who is new to the franchise.

As for staff, the series is directed by Yoko Ikeda (who worked on Suite, Smile and Doki Doki, although not as series director, he was series director for Kaidan Restaurant). Junko Komura is supervising the script (who also worked on the script of several episodes of Go! Pri, KiraKiraALaMode, and also did the script for the Hugtto Futari wa All Stars movie). Character designs are by Naoko Yamaoka which is to me the biggest plot twist. I have to apologize to Toshie Kawamura. It's the first time Naoko Yamaoka is doing character design, however they did key animation on almost all Pretty Cure seasons. I guess after all that time of working on the show they finally let them do character designs (which was a mistake).

----

That's a lot of information we got suddenly. While I'm still not a fan of the designs and I still think the story sounds very vague I do like the sound of characters. The new season will debut February 2nd, so we just have to wait a little bit!

What do you think of the information we have so far? Any favorite characters yet? Let me know what you think ^^

Hi everyone~

There's some new Healin Good Precure images! Here's a link to the previous leaks we got:

Healin' Good Pretty Cure leaks!Hi everyone!
Obviously this journal will have spoilers for Healin' Good Pretty Cure! But I'm excited to show you the leaks we've got~
I think it's been a while since the first leaks were that high quality... I think the last time was Happiness Charge? Probably because at that time it was an Amazon leak as well. So let's take a look at them!
So the characters we see so far are our three new main characters and one mascot! We've got a pink, yellow and blue Cure this time. The art style (and the designs too) really give me a Smile! + Hugtto Precure vibes, it wouldn't surprise me if the character designs are done by Toshie Kawamura. Honestly not very happy about that because those two seasons probably have my least favorite character designs of all seasons... So let's take a look at them individually!
---
Pink
The pink Cure seems to have a flower theme going on with the flowers and leafs featured in her design. Her outfit mostly seems to feature pink, but there's also some yellow an

The new images are from a booklet featuring images from the upcoming spring Precure movie and also images for the season itself!

First images of the new season, on the left it has what looks like it could be the first poster of the season. It has a lot of interesting stuff going on, you have a better image of their full designs (well except yellow), you can see these items floating around them, they look like jewels/perfume bottles? I can see:

- a pink one featuring a cherry design
- a green one featuring a four-leaf clover design (I think)
- a red one featuring a flame design
- a blue one featuring a snowflake design
- another blue one featuring an umbrella design
- there's also an orange one, but I can't see the design

There are possibly items they have to collect and maybe use to upgrade their powers/attacks/weapons. They're also holding their weapons. It looks pretty basic, it feels like something that has been done before... It also looks like it features the girls' individual mascots.

There's another image of the three girls in their Precure form with the mascots. It looks like they have another item which looks like a handbag, don't know what that will be for. Maybe they use it to transform, maybe to collect items or store the mascots.

Then there's a image of our new pink Cure with Cure Star!

Of course there's also an image of the girls in their civilian forms (with their names)

Blue: Chiyu Sawaizumi aka Cure Fontaine

She doesn't look like the rich girl I was expecting, she might still be rich (maybe she's just not stylish). She does look more mature though, so she's probably still the smart/mature type. She has a penguin type mascot which would fit if she has ice/snow powers. Fontaine translates to Fountain though so she probably has water powers.

Pink: Nondoka Hanadera aka Cure Grace

Her civilian form looks... bland? I feel like her clothes don't really match well and her hairstyle looks kind of boring. She has a bunny mascot with fits nicely with her nature/flower powers. Her Cure name fits her princess theme.

Yellow: Hinata Hiramatsu aka Cure Sparkle

I kind of like her civilian form. She actually looks a bit stylish. She looks a bit sporty. She has a tiger(?) mascot. I first though she might be a star/sun themed Cure, but I read somewhere she might actually be an animal-themed Cure.

--

Honestly looking at them like this they remind me too much of the Hugtto civilian forms...

Blue mature Cure that dresses in a style that's like too old for her.
Pink upbeat Cure in a typical cutesy pink & blue outfit that's not very stylish.
Yellow stylish Cure both sporting a hoodie like that.

Again, where's the originality???

Then we have some images for the new All Stars movie which looks like it'll be released March 20th next year. It features the Healin Good girls with the Hugtto and Star Twinkle girls. Not much info there.

More images of Healin Good and the All Stars movie.

So overall:

It turns out the Cure name rumours were true! I like Cure Grace and Cure Fontaine, but compared to them Cure Sparkle is just so basic... Couldn't they come up with something better for her? The civilian designs are (like the Cure designs) rather bland and remind me too much of designs we've already seen before.

The mascots also look a bit bland, but I do like that they have individual mascots! I think the last time we had individual mascots was Doki Doki Precure?

Hopefully we'll get some more interesting translations soon, I really want to know more about the story!

What do you think of the new images?
